2-Ingredient Summer Dessert 🙌

Summer is fabulous, but no one wants to spend the day baking in a hot kitchen when it’s 92°F outside. Facts are facts.

Often we rely on fruit and cream-style recipes to hit the sweet spot, but my fav treat this summer is: all-natural magic shell.

Magic shell was a Gen X childhood staple. That squeeze bottle filled with rich chocolatey goodness and its instant-hardening power was the key to ice cream heaven.

It was delightfully delicious; and of course, equally bad for you. You couldn’t even pronounce any of the ingredients!

Today I’m sharing a super simple (and better-for-you) recipe hack. Behold–the summer dessert you didn’t know you needed!

Easy ✔️
Natural ✔️
Delicious ✔️

This 2-ingredient wonder checks all the boxes! All you need is chocolate and coconut oil–well, you’re definitely going to want to put this on ice cream–so make that three ingredients!

This is for people who like magic. Just kidding, it’s for people who love simple desserts (with an added bit of nostalgia).

Are you going to try this easy-peasy recipe?

Magic Shell

Ingredients

2 cups chocolate chips or other chopped chocolate (about 11-12 oz)
¼ cup coconut oil (use refined if you prefer no coconut flavor)

Directions

1. Combine your ingredients in a large glass (or other microwave-safe) bowl.

2. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring after each, until the mixture is completely melted and smooth.

3. Pour over the top of your favorite frozen treats!

I have tried this recipe and it's quite delicious. I highly recommend putting this topping on the following frozen deserts: Coconut or Coconut-Almond Gelato, Peanut, Almond or any Nut Butter Gelato, Vanilla Gelato, Birthday Cake Gelato.
