Can we talk about something that used to make me incredibly uncomfortable? I spent years hiding behind the counter at Sprinkles, covered in flour and perfectly content to let my cupcakes do all the talking. After all, wasn't it about the product, not me?
First, a warm hello to all our new subscribers who found their way here after my Sweet Spot Challenge announcement on Instagram and LinkedIn! And to my longtime readers – thank you for being here for another chapter of this journey.
Here's the thing about hiding: it feels safe, but it holds you back. I learned this firsthand at Sprinkles. While I was busy trying to stay in the background (even as customers started calling me "Ms. Sprinkles"), something bigger was happening. The world wasn't just interested in my cupcakes – they were drawn to the story of a banker who traded spreadsheets for spatulas. And when I finally stepped out from behind that counter? Everything changed.
What I didn't realize then, but know for certain now, is that people don't just buy products – they connect with people. When I finally embraced being the face of Sprinkles, I wasn't just selling cupcakes anymore. I was sharing a story of reinvention that resonated far beyond our bakery walls.
That decision to build my personal brand alongside Sprinkles? It turned out to be my secret ingredient for what came next. When I eventually sold the company (in 2012), I took something invaluable with me – my story and the audience who believed in it. This foundation has allowed me pivot from founder to TV personality, producer, NYT and WSJ bestselling author, public speaker, business mentor, founder again with Pizzana, and even a Guest Shark on Shark Tank.
This is exactly why I'm launching the Find Your Sweet Spot Challenge. Whether you're a founder, creator, corporate professional, or job seeker, your personal brand isn't just some buzzword – it's your online reputation. It's what opens doors, creates opportunities, and builds genuine connections that last longer than any single venture.
Starting March 3rd, I'm hosting a 4-week challenge on Instagram and LinkedIn to help you step into the spotlight and build a personal brand that resonates. Each week, I will share a content prompt in this newsletter and we'll work together to help each other show up authentically online and create content that truly connects.
Let's be real – in 2025, your personal brand is your biggest asset. The most successful individuals aren't just showing up – they're leading conversations. And I want to help you do the same.
It's time for the online world to get to know you and what makes you uniquely special.

I’m in!! 🙌🏼
This is exactly what I need for my brand and to give my business visibility. I believe I have a story to tell but I've been resistant to really put my face on things. Looking forward to the next few weeks.
