Welcome to Week 2 of the #SweetSpotChallenge!
In case you missed it, we're on a 4-week journey to build your personal brand through strategic, authentic content. Last week, I challenged you to create a video sharing your unique journey—what got you to where you are today as a founder, creator, or professional.
The goal wasn't perfection or drama, but authenticity—whether you're an expert in digital marketing, building the next CPG unicorn, curating a wellness community, or any other path that makes you uniquely YOU.
I've been absolutely blown away by your videos from Week 1!
My feed has been FILLED with your amazing stories! Each time I saw another #SweetSpotChallenge video roll across my feed it made my day.
Here are a couple of standouts that caught my attention:
Some of you even messaged me directly to share your experience:
I know many of you felt hesitant at first, but… doesn't it feel amazing now that you've taken the plunge? You've taken that crucial first step toward letting the world get to know the real you and what makes you truly special. The best part? Now that you've distilled your story, it's the gift that keeps on giving. You can share it again and again, tweaking the format each time. It's your classic origin story—one that only gets better with each retelling.
And to those of you still sitting on the sidelines, jump in—the water's warm. Take a peek at last week's incredible content and let yourself be inspired.
There is magic that happens when you show up as yourself in a digital world starving for realness.
Ready to take it deeper? Let's go!

It's not fancy equipment. It's not picture-perfect aesthetics. It's not even expert knowledge (though that helps).
It's showing people what happens behind the curtain.
This Week's Challenge: Take Your Audience Behind-the-Scenes
For Week 2 of the #SweetSpotChallenge, I invite you to show your audience the real moments behind your work.
When you share glimpses into your actual work life, three powerful things happen:
You build trust and credibility without having to "prove" yourself
You show the hard work, wins, and challenges behind your success
You make your journey relatable—because people connect with PEOPLE, not polished personas
Why "Day in the Life" Content Is Pure Gold
I'll let you in on a little secret: "day in the life" style content (and its cousin, the "get ready with me" video) consistently outperforms more polished, professional content across platforms.
Why? Because it mimics the experience of spending time with a friend. When someone follows along as you make your morning coffee, set up for a meeting, or troubleshoot a challenge in real-time, they develop that crucial "like and trust" factor that turns followers into fans and customers.
Honestly, even knowing that, I still struggle to create it! Remembering to film snippets throughout the day feels unnatural, and it definitely interrupts my flow. (Do I really want to set up my camera before I've had my coffee? Probably not, but here we are...)
And yet, every time I push through that resistance, I'm rewarded with content that creates genuine connection. Worth it? 100%.
Who Can Use Behind-the-Scenes Content?
This content type works for everyone. Coaches can film snippets of their coaching calls (with permission) or show how they prepare for sessions. Retail owners can take followers on a pre-opening store walkthrough or show the process of merchandising new inventory. Product-based founders could show how they set up at a tradeshow or brainstorm new marketing initiatives with their team. And don't forget the other more personal parts of your day—like your morning routine, power lunch, or all-important workout—that reveal the human behind the business.
As a restaurant owner, this week I'm pulling back the curtain on one of my favorite parts of the job - a menu tasting with Pizzana chef Daniele Uditi. My audience gets to watch our team debate flavor combinations, see our chef at work and see the behind the scenes of what specials make it onto the menu. And not to worry - I've sprinkled in a few personal moments too, from my morning hair diffusing routine to how I style those trending spring accessories before heading out the door.
Regardless of your industry, letting people see the human behind the work creates connection that no polished marketing can match.
Overcoming "But My Day Isn't Interesting Enough"
If you're thinking "my day isn't exciting enough" or "I don't know how to make good videos"—stop right there. The value isn't in production quality or having an Instagram-worthy life.
The magic happens when you share authentic glimpses into your world, however ordinary it might seem to you. An unfiltered, in-the-moment video shot on your phone will connect more deeply than the most polished content that lacks authenticity. Just imagine - a seemingly dull clip of you working on your laptop can be brought to life with a voiceover talking about the complex, game-changing project you're tackling.
All you need is your phone and the courage to press record.
I'd love to know—what part of creating "behind the scenes" content feels most challenging to you? Drop your thoughts in the comments!
Here's to creating content that connects…
