Hi friends!
Remember how I mentioned that with my impending book release this fall, my summer has felt like a lot more work than play? Well, not much has changed! I'm still putting my nose to the grindstone most days.
However, a couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of mixing business and pleasure when I traveled to the Hampton’s for my friend, Amy Griffin's, G9 Ventures conference — a fund that invests in private female founded consumer companies.
It's a one day conference attended by female founders, funders. I am both, so it was super exciting for me to be there amongst creatives and thought leaders like Laura Modi, founder of Bobbie organic infant formula, who spoke about being on the front lines of the formula shortage. There was also a panel on the state of the market, which reaffirmed the projections in my most recent WSJ article — mainly, try to delay funding if you can. It’s a tough market out there!
I also really enjoyed a women's health panel where I learned that women had not been required to be included in clinical trials until 1993 🤯. And, Eve Rodsky, author of the best selling book, Fair Play, brought the house down with her keynote speech. Plus, I loved seeing my friend Dee Poku, founder of WieSuite!
At lunch Amy had placed Sprinkles cupcakes at everyone’s seat with a QR code to scan to pre-order my book Sweet Success! I'm always excited when I have an opportunity to connect with and raise up fellow female business leaders, and this was no exception. I left more inspired than ever — which is perfect because I still have a whole month left of summer to keep working!
What is inspiring you this summer?
What a fantastic article! I'm finding inspiration everywhere, including from you!
