Create morning rituals that set you up for success
Are you a morning person? I’m not NOT a morning person (I started a bakery, after all!), but let’s just say I need my beauty sleep. TBH, I’m an eight-hours-a-night kind of gal, so it’s rare to find me up before 7:30 am.
Recently my friend and lifestyle guru Camille Styles, of the eponymous online publication, asked to feature my morning routine. I initially hesitated. See, I love the idea of long morning rituals, but in reality I need to keep my mornings as easy and effortless as possible. I do that by focusing on three key things: hydration (water with Lemon DripDrop electrolytes), caffeine (coffee with collagen and cashew milk), and scheduling (I take a quick peek at my calendar for the day to mentally prepare). I was worried… would my morning routine come across as boring???😱
Rest assured the life of an entrepreneur is anything BUT boring. During the week there’s always so much to do and so little time to do it that I have to prioritize ruthlessly. Come the weekend, I look forward to a little more leisure time and can embrace the indulgences (i.e. I skip the porridge and treat myself to a dark chocolate Fonut ). IYKYK.
I AM CONSTANTLY TRYING TO BE LESS REACTIVE AND MORE STRATEGICALLY PROACTIVE WITH MY DAY.
Of course, no morning routine is complete without skincare and a little beauty. One thing I never skip is sunscreen! I use Relevant One and Done Sunscreen. Love a good one-and-done product! I’m also a sucker for a product that does double duty like Merit The Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Foundation and Concealer Stick. Foundation and concealer? Yes, please! Add a little liquid blush, Tower28 lip glass for some hydration and color on the lips, a swipe of Merit Day Glow Dewy Highlighting Balm and I’m out the door!

Some of my morning rituals include the following:
Having eggs for breakfast (poached, omelette, egg cups or egg souffles)
Eating a fruit & yogurt parfait for breakfast
Enjoying a cup of tea for breakfast
Getting dressed to go for a walk
Go ice skating (in the winter) Hey, you should sell Sprinkles Cupcakes & Hot Chocolate at skating rinks during the skating season.

I love this! Also your built in kitchen appliances are DREAMS. My morning routine is toddler mania. Enough said.
